RULES ON HITTING SPRINKLER HEADS

by ROBERT ARRUBLA
(Ft Worth Tx)

Hi, I hope you can find me an answer.

Last fri. I was on a par three hole of 142 yds. I had a good hit that landed right before the green area, about 2 feet from the actual green and a little to the right. But we saw the ball take a big bounce to the right and landed about 20 yds from the green on the right.

As we approached the green, we saw a sprinkler head about 4 inches in diameter, sticking up about i inch from the ground.

Should I have the privilege to hit again from the T box? since it hit an object other than the ground or a sand box or three?

I do not think that sprinkler heads should be so close to the green.

What do you think, or is there any rule concerning this?
