Pitching Wedge
by: Joe Krarup MD passion-for-golf.com

Hi Susan,

Thanks for your question, your pitching wedge should come with your full set of clubs and will match in standard length to your other irons.

However if you are looking to purchase a pitching wedge on it's own, the loft should be 4 degrees more than your 9 iron. So if your nine iron has a 92 degree loft, then your pitching wedge should have a 96 degree loft.

In terms of length, all clubs are standard length, therefore if you are relatively short, or very tall, you can get your existing clubs made to measure at your local pro shop, it's easy for them to do, and doesn't cost much.

Alternatively, you could just choke down the grip a bit, that is to move your hands further down the shaft.

Have fun, and keep hitting the short grass!

Joe.
