Callaway Irons
The Professional Choice
Callaway irons are designed to be easy to hit, great for beginners. They are
very popular with all golfers but Callaways are especially helpful for
mid to high handicap golfers. They often have thick club heads that are
very forgiving if you miss the sweet spot.Consider
the following features when deciding which irons are most suitable for
your game.
Cavity back Callaways have a
hollow
in the back of the club head. This creates more mass around the
perimeter of the club head. Irons with cavity backs are therefore less
prone to twisting when you miss the sweet spot.
This makes irons with cavity backs more forgiving. Many tour
professionals now use cavity back irons. Irons with deeper cavities are
more forgiving but offer less feel to your shots.
Bladed irons have a thinner club head
and no cavity in the back. Callaway blades provide
lots of feel but are less forgiving to hit. Blades
are best suited for players with low handicaps. Do not buy Bladed irons if you are a beginner!!
Irons with graphite shafts are
lighter and more suitable for golfers with slower swings or higher
handicaps. Golfers with fast swings usually find they are more accurate
with steel shafted irons. Most golf professionals will play with steel
shafts. New graphite shafts typically cost 25% more than a set with
steel shafts.
Irons with regular flex shafts will
be suitable for most golfers. If you have a low handicap or fast swing
you may prefer irons with a stiffer shaft. If you have a higher
handicap or slower swing you may prefer a more flexible shaft.
Irons with a standard lie are
suitable for most golfers. If you are a tall golfer or have a more
upright swing you may prefer irons with a lie that is 1-2 degrees
upright. If you are a short golfer or have a flatter swing you may
prefer irons with a lie that is 1-2 degrees flatter.
Callaway offer six ranges, the FT
I-BRID Irons, FT Irons, X-Forged Irons (09), X-22 Tour Irons,

every shot. Callaway are arguably the number one in golf today, and
